パリの花市場

パリの花市場はパリより7キロほど南に下ったランジス(RUNGIS)中央市場の中にあります。花だけでなく野菜肉など生鮮食品を扱う世界一大きな総合卸売市場と言われています。

こちらではせりは行われておらず全てオランダの花市場アールスメール(Aalsmeer)で競り落とされた花が運ばれてくるとのこと。
花市場の中で特に目を引いたのがフォイヤジスト(FEUILLAGISTE)と言うグリーンや枝物を専門に扱うお店があること。シャンぺトル(Champêtre)に代表される枝やグリーンを使ったパリの花にはフォイヤジストはとても重要な役割のようです。

Paris’ flower market is located in the Rungis International Market, which is approx. 7km south from Paris. The Market that sells flowers as well as produce such as vegetables, fruits, meats is considered as the largest wholesale fresh food market in the world.
There is not a bidding-system to floral merchandise in Paris, all the flowers are successfully bid and brought in from Aalsmeer Florist Market in Holland.

At the Market what really drew my attention was there are shops specialized on foliage – called “FEUILLAGISTE”. The roles of feuillagistes should be indispensable to “Champêtre” that epitomizes the ambience of Paris’ flower scene which uses many foliage.
